Yellow Roses in Texas

My new neighbors are all so friendly! One brought me cookies, another brought brownies, and another brought wine. I feel so welcomed! Here is a thank you card I made for one of the ladies.

You can probably tell that center step cards are my go-to-card lately. I used K & Co. background papers and made some yellow Regal roses. I used Scattered Straw and Wild Honey for them. Love the color. I stained the seam binding Wild Honey stain.

The pearl cluster is a sticker from Michaels. I sniped out the part that was under the bow and added it to the top left corner. I figured it needed to be seen. LOL

Special Thank You Card

Well, you may have read that we recently moved. I love the new house and the view outside is great. The only sad thing about this move is that am going to have to change pharmacies. With all of my different medicines, that is not as easy as it sounds. I have been using the same local pharmacy for several years and the staff there is absolutely wonderful. They are so kind and patient and are always extremely helpful. That type of service is getting harder and harder to find these days.

I made the ladies at the pharmacy a special thank you card.

I have trouble photographing red cards. If anyone has any tips I would appreciate them.

It is a side step card where I used my Open Rose and Diamond Deco Design cut files. You can download the free Thank You caption cut files here.

The red bling is from some Bling on a Roll that my DH bought for me at Micheal's that I cut apart. The "Thank You" is cut from red then I spread red Stickles over the words.
(He went to the store when they where having a sale on bling and just grabbed what he thought I would like. When he saw that I used some of it on this card he said, "So, I did good on picking out the bling?" Love him!)

Cropped Event Challenge 5

Hello again. I have another project for the Cropped Event Challenge #5. We had to ONLY USE paper. (and of course the adhesive of choice). Well, my followers know that if I have paper, glue, and my electronic cutting machine, I am all set. :)

I made a 5 1/2 inch square card with my Diamond Edged doilies and my Open Rose.
The card stock and patterned paper are from the mystery box I received for the event. I added some ivory card stock of my own.

The rose is one of my handmade paper roses. I use my cutter to cut the petals and then shape them and glue them in place. (If you look really close you can see the glue in the center because I was rushing and did not let it dry completely) LOL
Here is the paper after I cut my shapes.

Notice I also use up every scrap of paper. The other half of this sheet was used for the card base.

Cropped Weekend Event

I have been joining in to the Cropped Event which is created by Megan Elizabeth from Above Rubies Studios. We received a mystery box of supplies and have gotten to participate in several hours of the live streamed cropped event. It has been very fun.
This is a card I made for challenge #4.
We needed to include at least 7 circles and the color Teal.
Obviously I have some circles in the glittery strip. I am counting the pearls as circles too. I thought the pop of Teal was very nice.
The gray doily paper is
The pink and white polka dot glittery paper is POW and is soooo pretty.
Peeking out from under the Pow paper strip is seam binding that I stained with Tattered Rose and gathered.

You can check out the live streaming tonight until 9:00 pm EST and tomorrow from 2:00 to 6:00 EST. Just go to The Cropped Event or search for it on Ustream.

Detailed Butterfly Gatefold

Well, I have been really busy settling in after moving. I really love my new craft space and have been able to do a few crafts. Here is a butterfly gatefold card I made for a friend.

I used my Detailed Butterfly die cuts and my Diamond Edge files. (can be found on my Etsy site)
I embossed the 2 side panels and then went over them with a white chalk ink pad. It gives such a light and dainty feel to the card.

More to come...

Chinese Lantern

One of my nieces loves Oriental decorations. I made her a decorative screen last year. I made this Chinese Lantern for her birthday this year.

I used black card stock and added some copper chalk ink and gilder's paste. (I will be using the gilder's paste a LOT so more info in that later :)

I used my branch with my cherry blossom files. I used one set of petals last year but decided to use 2 sets of petals per flower this time. They are inked with Barn Door distress ink and finished off with a pearl that I colored yellow with a Sharpie marker.

I added some distress embossing powder to the branch for a really cool texture. The leaves were embossed with green glitter e.p.

The large size battery operated tea light fits perfectly.

Pink Damask

Hello my crafty friends. Well I have been busy moving and have not had an internet connection for several days. I never realized I was so addicted to getting online! I have missed my blog and Reader so much.

Well that is the negative side of the move, but the positive side is that I have a HUGE new craft room! I will post pictures when I have it all set up. (and after I get all the other boxes that are stashed in it right now) LOL

Here is a card that I made before the move.

Isn't it pretty? I really like it. I even stamped on it. (that is big for me...LOL)

I made my own embossed resist background. I used a Tim Holtz Damask stamp that the surrounding area instead of the damask pattern (ie the part that is white on the card.)
It was stamped using Versa Mark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
Then I inked the background with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.  That made the areas that were not embossed turn pink.

I added an oval frame and open rose which I left white and just inked the edges with the Picked Raspberry.
Love that effect on the rose!
Then of course I had to add some bling to finish it off.

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing this card as much as I enjoyed making it. :)

I will keep you informed of my new craft room. I have BIG plans for crafting in this new space. LOL
